Mr. Ezell’s career in the financial services industry dates back to 1988 having held positions with several prestigious investment banking firms, including Bear Sterns & Company in New York, Morgan Stanley & Company in Atlanta, Georgia, and Alex Brown & Sons also in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

In 1999, Mr. Ezell joined South City Capital L.P. an Atlanta-based private equity and corporate financial advisory firm. At South City Capital, Mr. Ezell originated and executed lower middle market (LMM) buyouts, private equity & family succession recapitalizations, industry consolidations, management build-ups and placements of senior, subordinated and mezzanine debt.

 

In 2004, Mr. Ezell was one of five founding general partners of Brazos River Capital, LLC, a boutique investment banking and private investment firm headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. For more than two decades, Mr. Ezell has been active investing as a principal and advising companies in the food & beverage, specialty manufacturing, health care, energy & power, oil field service, technology & telecom and consumer products industries.  Cobalt Capital Partners, LLC was founded in 2008. 

 

Throughout his career, Mr. Ezell has been actively involved in the formation, growth and subsequent monetization of lower middle market (LMM) companies in diverse sectors and serves on several Boards in an advisory capacity. Mr. Ezell is also involved in several charitable and philanthropic organizations.

Mr. Ezell earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
